This week, a film company is holding casting sessions for a huge number of Viking extras in Ireland.
The team is looking for thousands of people to participate in a new TV series being filmed in the country. The first casting call took place in County Wicklow this Monday, with two more sessions coming up in Dublin.
Step right up
Bluetooth Productions has issued a call for thousands of Viking extras for an upcoming TV series. The show's creators have since confirmed to The Viking Herald that the series is called Bluetooth, though they noted they are not allowed to reveal much more at this time.
At the time of writing, no additional details about the production have been made public. What is clear from the call is that a large number of extras will be required for filming later this year.
The production team is holding three casting sessions. The first was held on Monday, June 30, at the town of Newtownmountkennedy in County Wicklow, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The second and third sessions will be held at The Complex in the Irish capital of Dublin on Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4, also from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Any extras selected to take part in the filming of the series will receive compensation for their work.
Shooting is due to take place in Dublin and also in and around County Wicklow. Wicklow, located just south of Dublin, was also a key film location for the hit series Vikings and its sequel, Vikings: Valhalla.

Everyone is welcome
The production team is reportedly looking for all types of people to feature in the show, with people of all ethnicities, religious backgrounds, and heritage welcome to apply.
The team does point out, however, that "sporty types," martial artists, and boxers are particularly in demand. For men, long hair and a beard are a plus, but by no means essential. Women should have naturally colored hair of any length.
The crew also calls for anyone with particular skills that could be displayed during the shoot. In particular, the call requests experienced fishermen, carpenters, and craftspeople, as well as farmworkers, archers, rowers, sailors, ship hands, and calligraphers.
The team is also interested in Latin and Arabic speakers, not to mention lumberjacks, magicians, nurses, musicians, and singers.

Just turn up!
Anyone interested in attending the casting call is asked to simply come along on the day to the appointed venue. There, they will be asked to fill out an application form and will also have their photo taken.
The process will take around 20 minutes. It should be noted, however, that all extras need to be full-time residents, living in Ireland with a working visa and PPS number.
Applicants are also expected to be able to provide any useful measurements, such as height, chest, dress, and shoe size.
If selected, the extras can be expected to be contacted for filming at some point during the shooting schedule. The filming of the series is expected to take place from July to November of this year.
